I build defensive systems, and I am deliberately learning to attack them. Those two halves are not separate interests. A detection rule written by someone who has never tried to slip past one tends to be a rule about the easy case — you find out what a threshold is worth by trying to walk under it.

The work I am drawn to sits in the same place every time: a system producing more data than anyone can read, and a question about what is actually happening inside it. Turning the first into an answer to the second is the job I want.
